Foggy mornings? Sleepy afternoons? Not anymore!

A few months ago, I posted about my experience so far with Hum Nutrition. I had found two of their vitamins that I loved SO MUCH and considered them my holy grail skin products. I still stand by those two products (daily cleanse and gut instinct) and I'm happy to share that I've found three more products that I just can't live without.

In this post I'll talk about:

- Raw Beauty Green Superfood Powder

- Uber Energy

- Beauty zzZz

Raw Beauty Green Superfood Powder I mentioned in my last post that I had received a free sample of this powder with one of my monthly shipments. Well, good idea Hum, because you totally got me hooked! Not going to lie though - when I first dumped the mint chocolate chip infusion flavored powder into a glass of milk, it looked so dang gross I didn't even want to take a sip. Then I did the sniff test, and it smelled delectable! I decided to be brave and take a sip, and I was so pleasantly surprised. It was scrumptious! I guzzled the entire thing down, then went on with my day. After that free sample though, I kind of forgot about the product.

But then........

I cut coffee out of my diet. I know, you probably think I'm nuts. Every morning I drink a little concoction with apple cider vinegar, as well as a protein shake, water when I work out, more water to take all my vitamins, and then a cup of coffee to top it all off. It was just too much darn liquid for my body to handle on my drive in to work. So, the coffee had to go.

The ACV drink gives me the energy boost I need in the morning, but without fail by mid afternoon I was crashing. Not only would I feel tired and sluggish, but my brain would just shut down. Then I remembered that tasty little drink I had tried from Hum claimed to boost energy! I was due for a new shipment soon, so I quickly logged on and placed an order for the Raw Beauty to-go in the mint chocolate chip infusion flavor. Here I am two months later and I can't imagine a workday without this drink. The package suggests mixing with 8 oz. of water, milk, your favorite smoothie or non-citrus juice. I like to mix mine with a little bit of coconut or almond milk, and it's the perfect afternoon treat. I do notice a boost in my energy, plus it's a nice little snack between meals to curb those hunger pangs I sometimes get. I wouldn't say it's the same energy you get from a cup of coffee, but it's pretty close! Something to keep in mind - if you buy the tubs of the powder you definitely get more bang for your buck. I should probably do that, but the little packets are so easy for me to take to work. You only get 15 servings with the packets as opposed to 30 with the tub, so I only drink them when I'm in the office (3 days a week) as a way to treat myself since my commute is so long. Uber Energy Like I said, I cut coffee out of my diet. Not only was I totally crashing in the afternoon, but I found that most mornings I was stuck in a sort of fog that I couldn't shake. The day I realized I had a major problem was when one of my coworkers was trying to discuss the Game of Thrones episode from the previous night, and I couldn't remember some major plot points. That is just not like me. So, I thought I'd see if Hum had any vitamins for mental clarity!

Instead of mental clarity, I came across Uber Energy which claims to support consistent energy through adrenal strength. I added this to my morning vitamin regiment, and stopped feeling that fog take over my life. I feel more alert and motivated, and have no problem getting through my day without a cup of coffee or tea. For me, Uber Energy is definitely here to stay. Beauty zzZz

Enough about energy. Let's talk about my favorite thing - sleep! I have been plagued with sleeping problems my entire life, just like my mother (thanks mom!) The one thing on earth that I can rely on is melatonin. I've been taking a melatonin vitamin nightly for quite some time now because it's the only thing that helps me sleep. It took a long time for me to find just the right dose. I was taking Schiff brand "Knock Out" vitamins (which are great by the way.) The only problem was that the recommended dosage was 2 vitamins. They certainly did the trick and knocked me out, but holy heck I could not get out of bed in the morning. I eventually figured out that for me, the ideal dose was 1/2 of 1 vitamin. I fell asleep with ease, stayed asleep all night, and woke up feeling refreshed and ready to go.

So, I just polished off my last bottle of knock out, and now I can't find those Schiff brand vitamins anywhere!! Where the heck did I buy those???? I have no clue. So, I thought, let's give Hum a try! I ordered the Beauty zzZz vitamin, and took the recommended dose my first night. I took 1 vitamin 20 minutes before bed. When my head hit the pillow, I was out like a light. I woke up the next day and felt GREAT!

Now that I've been using the Hum Beauty zzZz for a month, I know it's here to stay. I like it even better than the Schiff brand vitamins - I fall asleep faster, and stay asleep better.

Here is the one downside to melatonin: It can give you WILD nightmares. This doesn't just apply to the vitamins from Hum - any melatonin from any brand can give you crazy dreams, and boy have I been having some craaaaazy dreams lately. Just be prepared for that before you take these babies. But honestly, the weird dreams are worth it for a great night sleep.

So, there you have it! That's my 2 cents on 3 more Hum products. I'm totally hooked. Have you tried Hum yet? Tell me your favorite product in the comments section below!
